MIG Welding – Full Day – Aluminum

This course is designed for individuals interested in learning MIG welding aluminum. The full session is dedicated to understanding the unique characteristics and challenges of working with this material. Key topics include:
- Proper preparation and cleaning of the weld joint prior to welding
- Techniques specific to aluminum welding
- The importance of achieving proper crater fill at the end of each weld
- Using advanced machine features such as pulse modes available on select MIG systems
Classes are six hours long with lecture, lab time, and a one-hour lunch break.
What to Bring (Students are encouraged to bring their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Safety glasses
- Protective welding jacket
- Welding gloves
- Welding Helmet
Notes:
- If a student doesn’t have the PPE described above, these items will be provided for use during class.
- Leather closed-toed shoes or equivalent are required in the welding lab.
- Absolutely no shorts or open-toed shoes are allowed in the welding lab.
