MIG Welding – Half Day – Steel
This course is designed for individuals who want an introduction to welding but cannot commit to a full-day program. Over the span of three hours, students work directly with a skilled instructor using state-of-the-art equipment. The class is ideal for those new to welding or for experienced welders who want to refresh and refine their skills.
Key features include:
- Emphasis on the short-circuit MIG welding process for carbon steel
- Instruction geared toward thinner materials, typically under 1/4"
- Minimal lecture, with most of the time spent in the welding lab
- Approximately two hours of hands-on “arc-on” experience
This class is three hours in duration and is offered in a Morning Session (8:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.) or an Afternoon Session (12:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m.).
What to Bring (Students are encouraged to bring their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Safety glasses
- Protective welding jacket
- Welding gloves
- Welding Helmet
Notes:
- If a student doesn’t have the PPE described above, these items will be provided for use during class.
- Leather closed-toed shoes or equivalent are required in the welding lab.
- Absolutely no shorts or open-toed shoes are allowed in the welding lab.
